NATIONAL BUSINESS GROUP ON HEALTH HONORS GOODYEAR

The National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of 425 large U.S. employers, today honored The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for having one of the best workforce wellness programs in the nation.

Goodyear is among 48 employers that received the 2017 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award presented at the National Business Group on Health’s Workforce Strategy 2017 Conference in Washington, D.C. Goodyear received a Platinum Award for its GoodLife programs.

Goodyear provides a range of services to associates to promote health and access the best care when they need it. This includes on-site facilities such as clinics, fitness centers and cafeterias as well as services that support associates when they are away from work including online health networks and discounted health services.

"We recognize Goodyear for the innovative approach it brings to employee, family and community health and well-being," said Brian Marcotte, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health. "Goodyear is among an elite group of employers who are embracing well-being as an important part of their workforce strategy and working to construct a culture that promotes productivity, engagement and happiness."

"Inspiring and supporting our associates to achieve good health helps Goodyear control benefit costs, grow productivity and remain an employer of choice for the best talent," said Dr. Brent Pawlecki, Goodyear's chief health officer.

Now in its 13th year, the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles awards recognize employers with exceptional commitment to improving their employees' physical and emotional health and well-being, productivity and overall quality of life.

The National Business Group on Health is the nation's only non-profit organization devoted exclusively to representing large employers' perspective on national health policy issues and helping companies optimize business performance through health improvement, innovation and health care management. Business Group members provide health coverage for more than 50 million U.S. workers, retirees and their families.
